📚 How K Quest Works

What is k?

y = kx  →  k = y ÷ x

In a proportional relationship, k is the constant of proportionality — the constant rate of change. Every y-value divided by its x-value gives the SAME number.

1
Pick any point from the table or graph — never (0, 0).
Point: (4, 12)
2
Divide y by x:
k = 12 ÷ 4 = 3
3
Check with another point! Every point should give the same k.

Reading a Graph

A proportional graph is a straight line through the origin (0, 0). Find the gold point and divide.

Gold point at (2, 6) → k = 6 ÷ 2 = 3
Gold point at (4, 2) → k = 2 ÷ 4 = 1/2 (k can be a fraction or decimal!)

How to Play

📊
From a Table — Find k using the table of x and y values.
📈
From a Graph — Use the labeled gold point on the line.
🎲
Mixed — Tables and graphs together!
Some questions are multiple choice, others ask you to type k — you can type a whole number, decimal, or fraction like 3/4.
