The Slope-Intercept Form

y = mx + b

m is the slope (rise over run). b is the y-intercept — where the line crosses the y-axis.

In y = 2x + 3: slope m = 2, y-intercept b = 3
The line crosses the y-axis at (0, 3)

Slope = rise / run. m = 2 means rise 2, run 1 — up 2, right 1 from any point.

Negative slope goes DOWN as you move right.
m = -1/2 means down 1, right 2

Graphing a Line from y = mx + b
