📚 Volume of Cylinders

The Formula

Volume = area of the circular base × the height. That’s V = Bh, and since the base is a circle: V = πr²h. Use 3.14 for π.

Square the radius first. Radius 2 means 2² = 4.
V = 3.14 × (2)² × 7

Multiply everything. 3.14 × 4 × 7 = 87.92
V ≈ 87.92 in³
Diameter given? Cut it in half first — the formula needs the radius.

Working Backwards

Find the height: divide the volume by (3.14 × r²).
h = V ÷ (3.14 × r²)
Find the radius: divide the volume by (3.14 × h), then take the square root.
r = √( V ÷ (3.14 × h) )
